For the Year of Mercy St. Jane’s Young Adult Fellowship is going to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. As pilgrims, we will walk through the Holy Door, have time for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and celebrate Holy Mass. Take part in a morning of service with 270Catholic as we join with A Wider Circle’s ‘Neighbor-to-Neighbor’ program, which provides basic need items for people transitioning out of shelters or simply living without life’s necessities. This activity will include sorting through donations, re-stocking the showrooms, and helping to load up trucks or client’s vehicles as they are getting ready to go home. **Please park at Woodlin Elementary School (2101 Luzerne Ave, Silver Spring MD 20910). When you walk out of the school parking lot make a right and then another right to follow the short path leading up to the warehouse.**

Looking for a way to serve? St. Rose of Lima Parish in Gaithersburg needs volunteers for their Annual Fiesta on September 19th. Volunteers are needed for preparation and setup of the flea market from Sept. 11-Sept 17 as well as during the Fiesta on Sept. 19.  The Annual Fiesta is a wonderful event that serves as a fundraiser, community-building event, an opportunity to evangelize neighbors in the surrounding community, and outreach to many needy local families. Christ in the City Holy Hour

Join us for our monthly Holy Hour; evening will include praise & worship adoration, scripture reflection, silent meditation & Confession. Holy Hour followed by bbq! Minimum of $5 donation appreciated to help provide food/drinks for social, thanks!

“Hearts on Fire” Young Adult Retreat

A day and a half of spiritual renewal for young adults. Insights on how the deepest desires of our hearts lead us to the Heart of Christ. An introduction to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Dynamic presentations from young Jesuit priests and scholastics (seminarians). Practical ways to connect faith and daily life. Mass (meets Sunday obligation) and opportunity for Reconciliation. Saturday light breakfast and lunch provided.

Cost for the weekend: $20.00.  Scholarships are available.

Join Nick Hladek, Director of Adult Faith Formation, and Monica Ludwig, Director of Social Concerns Ministry, for a series of documentaries and guest speakers on hot topics in Catholic Social Teaching, including Abortion, Catholic Bioethics, Contraception, End of Life issues, Moral Relativism, Religious Freedom, Traditional Marriage, among others. We will discuss not only what the Church teaches about these issues, but also why the Church teaches what it does, and how we can apply Church teaching in our own lives. THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE will begin on Tuesday, 23 June 2015 from 7:00pm–9:00pm in the Parish Center Meeting Room.
